This includes a microphone of sufficient quality to ensure good sound, a mixer, a home based computer, speakers and an audio interface to connect to your computer. You will also need an internet connection to be able to get your podcast out to others on the net. But, when buying your podcasting equipment expect to spend at least two hundred and fifty dollars on a really good one.

The next most important item of equipment that is needed is the mixer. It is where you plug the microphone into. You will want several features form your mixer. First you want it to be able to deal with different kinds of sounds, not just your basic audio from your microphone. This is a good idea because it means that over time you can add in more varied equipment. Even though the initial outlay may seem high over time you will see how it will save you money. It is suggested that the right mixer have a minimum of twelve channels but no more than sixteen. The digital features, including the ability to eliminate unwanted background noises, and the quality of the equipment are other considerations when you pick the podcasting equipment you want to purchases.
